The lumber and building materials industry understands the importance of putting people first. It’s not just sound business practice, but it’s the right thing to do. One of LMC’s core values, “We Do the Right Thing,” extends beyond the workplace.
On July 16th, Team LMC volunteered at the MontCo SPCA alongside the company’s philanthropic committee, LMC Cares. Volunteer efforts like this are a regular part of LMC Cares’ work, with this particular day also serving as a tribute to former employee who was an avid animal lover.
Team LMC spent the day replacing garden beds, installing landscaping tiles, re-mulching, and clearing out barn areas. These efforts helped refresh and maintain the space, allowing the SPCA team to continue their work as effectively as possible.
LMC’s motto, Building Business Together, came to life during this volunteer effort, as the lumber used for the renovations was generously donated by Tague Lumber, a long-time member.
“What we accomplished for the Montgomery County SPCA through volunteered time and materials is incredible. The opportunity to connect outside the office while giving back in someone’s memory reflects what LMC is all about,” said LMC Cares member, Nicole Kelly.
This effort, organized by LMC Cares and supported by a donation from Tague Lumber, reflects the heart of the co-op and what sets this industry apart. Collaboration like this defines LMC.
