Major players in the lumber and building material industry gathered for the 2023 Pro Dealer Industry Summit from October 4-6. In addition to dealers, attendees included suppliers, vendors, and experts in finance, research, and technology.
The LMC Team had an incredible time rubbing shoulders with LMC Dealers at the summit. Kodiak Building Partners shone brightly as they were recognized as the Pro Dealer of the Year. Paul Hylbert, chairman of Kodiak Building Partners—which has grown from its inception in 2011 into a collection of 36 autonomous, locally-focused companies across 25 states—accepted the award on behalf of the nearly 6,000 Kodiak employees.
Mark Zemrowski, chief operating officer of Von Tobel Corp. officially assumed the role of chair of the National Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association during the Summit. When discussing the NLBMDA, in a video message Zemrowksi noted the association “gets a lot of good things done for the industry. If you’re not a part of the NLBMDA, I think you’re missing out.” Additionally, Bob Sanford, of Sanford and Hawley, received a special "Chairman's Award" for his support of the industry.
The learning experience at the Summit was top-notch bringing forth important discussions surrounding issues dealers face every day such as the cost of credit card transactions, the impact of regulations, the need to embrace technology, and the future of work.
Of course, one of the greatest parts of the Pro Dealer Industry Summit was the fantastic networking opportunities.
