The inaugural LBM Journal 100, a list of the LBM Journal's top 100 LBM dealers, includes almost 40 LMC dealers from across the country. The list, similar to Fortune Magazine's renowned "Fortune 500" list for corporations, is a ranking of the nation's top forest products and building materials dealers by 2020 sales.
Dealers also answered questions to their biggest challenges and current trends within the industry. Labor shortages continue to be a major issue across the board with over 75% surveyed naming it one of the top challenges. Businesses also saw significant growth in online sales from 2019 to 2020 with about 76% reporting "slightly more" (34.5%) or "significantly higher" (41.4%) business from online retail.
