Griffin Lumber and Hardware

The AGC Georgia Skills Challenge series was a resounding success, attracting over 2,100 students from 104 schools across Georgia to regional events. The competition featured core events in carpentry, electrical, masonry, plumbing, and welding etc. The program is made possible through the support of industry professionals, regional champions, and significant sponsorships, all working to grow the state's construction talent pipeline. Griffin Lumber and Hardware truly embodied the event's message of "Building Tomorrow's Workforce, Today."
Dakota County Lumber participated in the Spring Lake Park High School's construction education program with Housing First Minnesota Foundation. Students are building a house for the Elevate Hope House; the project serves to empower young, single moms in Anoka County, MN who are coming out of homelessness. DCL provided materials for the students to work on this house, which is being built in the school parking lot during classes. Once completed, it will be moved to a different location to help moms have a stable place to stay. DCL noted that "Welcoming young people into this industry and doing it in a way that also helps those who are coming out of homelessness is the ultimate win-win! We are grateful that two of our favorite causes got together for this project and invited us to get involved."
41 Lumber went into the classroom at Iron

Mountain Public School to educate young students on all things LBM. Team members Ben DeRidder and Carol Quandt presented to students about the importance of learning a trade and providing customer service. Students especially enjoyed looking at 41 Lumber's blueprints and exploring how to use technology to create virtual home walkthroughs before building. 41 Lumber was eager to share insights about the exciting possibilities in the home design and building materials industry.
Mill Creek Lumber and Supply Company had a great time at the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa's "Build My Future" event.
