LMC has continued to immerse itself and leave its footprint on their local community with a long standing employee driven initiative called LMC Cares.

This year, LMC is projected to donate over $15,000 to local organizations through its “Denim to Dollars” program, which totals to over $45,000 since the initiative began in 2018.  These donations have supported several programs that include the Travis Manion Foundation, Philabundance, Back On My Feet, and BreastCancer.org. The “Denim to Dollars” program allows staff to wear jeans to work with a weekly donation, every dollar raised matched by LMC. The fact that this initiative continues has shown the resilience of the LMC staff to support causes important to them despite governmental and organizational mandates.

In a typical year, the LMC Cares team also organizes volunteer opportunities with local charities but was limited this year due to the global pandemic. Previously, the LMC staff has volunteered at local organizations such as the Share Foodbank that delivers millions of pounds of food to those in need.  In addition to, Today is a Good Day, a non-profit in Flourtown, Penn., that provides personal and financial support for families who experience the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Cradles to Crayons in Philadelphia that provides clothing and filled school backpacks for children in need.

“The goal of LMC Cares is to find more ways to give back, not only with our donations but with our time as well,” said Rachel Hoops, an LMC Trader and current chair of LMC Cares. “With the global pandemic preventing us from having large gatherings to volunteer, it was important for LMC to continue the success of “Denim to Dollars” and I am so proud of our organization for rising to the challenge.”

LMC is currently in the midst of their annual United Way Campaign, a campaign to raise support for the national non-profit and fight against poverty by providing social and educational needs for low income communities. LMC and the United Way have partnered together since 1985 and last year raised over $20,000 company-wide.

To close out the year, LMC Cares is organizing its annual Salvation Army "Toys for Tots" toy drive to ensure toys are delivered to less fortunate children in the surrounding communities this holiday season.
