Koopman Lumber has a lot to celebrate! CEO Dirk Koopman was honored with the Vanguard Award at the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce 47th Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony. Dirk credited the Koopman team, past and present, for the company’s success, noting, "This is not a solo achievement; it belongs to every dedicated member of the Koopman family and team, past and present, whose hard work is the basis for our reputation and success. It was a joy to have my family with me as I accepted the award."
With that same momentum, Koopman Lumber has also announced an exciting transition: effective January 2026, Denise Brookhouse will become the company’s CEO. Dirk will move into the role of Chairman of the Board & President, continuing to help guide the company’s long-term strategy.
This transition marks an important chapter for the family-owned business. Dirk also said, "Denise and I literally grew up just up the street from the Koopman Lumber store in Whitinsville. We learned this business from the ground up, working alongside our dad, and we’ve been partners in it ever since." Dirk and the entire Koopman Lumber team expressed full confidence in Denise’s leadership, noting her deep understanding of both the company and the people who make it succeed.
