“We are happy to announce the acquisition of Fairhaven lumber. The Southcoast is a growing area of Massachusetts and we are looking forward to serving it better.” Dirk Koopman
Jim Kalife of Fairhaven Lumber is pleased to see a family business continue to service his customers. The Kalife family has earned a great reputation and loyalty from customers over their seventy years. Koopman Lumber is proud to continue with the same team of dedicated staff and is excited to be working together to build the future
“The new location will enhance and improve our ability to serve customers on the South Cost with local Pro Sales desks and local inventory. In addition, the Fairhaven location will allow us to better serve South Coast customers with the additional services of our Engineering and Estimating Group, our Custom Trim Shop and more” says Tony Brookhouse, COO of Koopman.
In an era when the building supply industry has consolidated into fewer and larger companies, Koopman is proud to grow and thrive as a local, family-owned and family-operated business. Koopman Lumber began in 1939 when a builder – Peter Koopman – began selling lumber and supplies to fellow builders out of his garage. That first-hand knowledge of the building trade fueled growth, and still inspires our vision today. Koopman Lumber will now have ten locations in Massachusetts. Seven of them have full Pro Sales desks, one is a full-service paint store, and two are delivery/distribution centers.
Koopman Lumber has been an LMC member since 1984.
