“Since Del started working with The Detering Company four years ago, he has done an exceptional job of keeping a sharp focus on what is best for our associates and customers. That approach has been vital to our successes, and I look forward to seeing his stamp on our new facilities as we continue to grow the Houston Market,” said CEO of The Detering Companies, John Sewall.
Del began his building materials career in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1981 he moved to Houston to continue his career holding several sales and management positions. Most recently in 2019 Del joined The Detering Company as a Millwork salesman. He later became the Sales Manager and then took on the dual role of Sales and General manager. In April of this year Del was named Vice President of Houston Operations including windows, millwork, and Detering’s new lumber operation, which opens in July of this year.

Del is married to Kelly, and together they have five children and nine grandchildren. In his free time he enjoys relaxing at his bay house and going to antique stores and flea markets. Detering is thrilled with Del’s promotion and excited for his continued leadership.
