Supervisor, Accounts Payable

The Supervisor, Accounts Payable oversees the daily activities of the accounts payable function, including the management of the day-to-day processes and supervision of the accounts payable staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory responsibilities for accounts payable staff including; participating in the interview process and making recommendations for the hiring of new staff, training, writing and conducting performance evaluations, providing work assignments, and resolving problems.
  • Supervising the efficient processing of vendor payments, dealer claims, crediting and correction of LMC invoices.
  • Coordinating with department staff to ensure vendor statements are current within 90 days
  • Conducting presentations of Claims & Adjustment policy at dealer purchasing clinics and webinars.  
  • Monitoring monthly debit balances & keeping below $250,000 threshold
  • Automating trade payment processes with bank ACH disbursements and negotiation of float neutral cash payment arrangements with vendors.
  • Scanning vendor ACH agreements, vendor set up forms and vendor information.
  • Monitoring G/L 2490 Exchange Account and clearing open transactions

  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual business plan
  • Performs all other duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Provides administrative telephone switchboard staff coverage to Corporate Meetings  
  • Provides invoice-processing support to the Billing department to achieve the monthly forecast.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field is strongly preferred.  
  • A minimum of five (5) years related experience.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent leadership capabilities embodying mentoring, role modeling, coaching, and skill development.
  • Excellent customer service focus and skill set.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external contacts, both in writing and verbally. 
  • Comfortable with technology and using computer programs including Excel, Word.
  • Ability to run database queries using software such as Access.
  • Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to learn the automated systems used by LMC and customer/dealers.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and initiate work of self and staff.
